Operating Room Care Coord RN (PRN UH1)

Location: University Health 1 (UH1), Kansas City, Missouri. Department: UH1 Operating Room. Position Type: Part time. Schedule: 6:45AM – 3:15PM, 4 hours per week.

We’re looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse who’s passionate about providing exceptional care, collaborating with an amazing team, and making a real difference in the lives of surgical patients.

Responsibilities

• Caring for surgical patients — from acute to chronic conditions — providing top‑notch care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Assessing surgical patients, planning care, and delivering nursing interventions in the fast‑paced OR environment.
• Mentoring new nurses, guiding them through orientation, skills training, and testing.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to provide the best patient care and improve surgical services programs.
• Contributing to ongoing research, educational initiatives, and program evaluations to advance care delivery.
• Supervising nursing students as they learn in the OR.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri RN licensure.
• Current BCLS card.
• If the position involves radiologic functions, must have received radiology certification or training through nursing program or complete training validated through a radiology competency checklist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• RN Specialty Certification preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills to foster team collaboration and mentoring.
• Ability to work in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
