Job Description And Duties

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by entering complaints and entity reported incidents for all health facility types received by mail, telephone and fax; creating and generating weekly and monthly reports needed by the office to track workloads; typing and mailing correspondence to the facility and the complainants; entering and updating information in ELMS; ordering office supplies; ensuring that the state car mileage is obtained on a monthly basis; answering phone calls and providing information to the public; and entering and calculating HFENs work hours on a monthly basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute
- Experience with ELMS system
- Basic knowledge of state vehicle maintenance
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
- Experience with complaint management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Strong typing and data entry skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Pay
The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction due to the implementation of the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. The position is subject to a 3% monthly base pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
Schedule
This position offers a hybrid telework schedule, in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.
