OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING)
About the role
The Library Office Technician plays a pivotal role in reintegrating people into society by providing instruction and imaginative escape through literacy. This position offers full-time hours, a fast-vesting pension plan, up to 14 paid days off per year, and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to clerks and library patrons utilizing their assigned library in order to provide patrons with their required access and to maintain institutional safety and security.
- Perform and/or monitor clerks in the tasks associated with book circulation, catalog classification, upkeep, maintenance, and inventory of library materials.
Requirements
This position is posted on a 12 month limited term basis with the possibility of being extended up to 24 months or becoming permanent. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development Assignment may also be considered for this position.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements for this position are detailed in the Class Specification. Individuals must possess the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications and obtain a valid typing certificate confirming their ability to meet the minimum typing speed prior to being hired.

Pay
$3,829.00 - $4,936.00 Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect recent changes.
