Responsibilities
- Answer the HR main phone line
- Assist employees, applicants, and visitors
- Respond to or route inquiries
- Prepare correspondence
- Maintain the HR email inbox
- Process incoming HR documents
- Log and track performance evaluations
- Upload payroll and personnel documents
- Maintain official personnel records
- Schedule interviews and meetings
- Clock travel
- Support document processing, filing, and records management
Working Conditions
This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.

- The position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section).
- You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.

Training and Development (T&D)
T&D assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months. The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.
