About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care within skilled nursing and post-acute care settings, focusing on long-term support and short-term rehabilitation for a diverse patient population with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assess, modify, and evaluate patient progress
- Supervise and oversee care provided by OT assistants and students
- Chart patient progress accurately and timely
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and facility policies
- Provide excellent patient service and support
- Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
- Ensure safety, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
Requirements
- NBCOT certification and state licensure
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT/MSOT)
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication skills
- Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate good body mechanics
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and judgment skills
