About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing setting, focusing on patients with various medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Follow individualized treatment plans to improve patient functional abilities
- Assess, establish, and modify realistic, measurable goals
- Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students
- Document progress accurately and timely using therapy software
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care
- Assist in patient evacuation and maintain safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate professionalism
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and regulations
- Deliver occupational therapy to support patient recovery, improve daily functioning, and promote quality of life
- Maintain professional standards, participate in community health initiatives, and ensure compliance with all laws and organizational policies
Requirements
- Certification by NBCOT (renewal optional) and active state licensure
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
- Strong judgment, body mechanics, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills in English
