About the Role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing setting, focusing on patients with various medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow individualized treatment plans to improve patient functional abilities
• Assess, establish, and modify realistic, measurable goals
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students
• Document progress accurately and timely using therapy software
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care
• Assist in patient evacuation and maintain safety protocols
• Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate professionalism
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and regulations
• Deliver occupational therapy to support patient recovery, improve daily functioning, and promote quality of life
• Maintain professional standards, participate in community health initiatives, and ensure compliance with all laws and organizational policies

Requirements

• Certification by NBCOT (renewal optional) and active state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
• CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
• Strong judgment, body mechanics, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills in English
