About the role
Seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to develop and manage workplace safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and fostering a safety-first culture.
Responsibilities
- Implement safety policies
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and lead root cause analysis with corrective actions
- Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work processes
- Participate in emergency response planning and safety training development
- Monitor workplace hazards such as dust, air quality, noise, and ergonomics
- Administer PPE programs and supervise Safety & Sanitation Technicians
- Collaborate with HR and production teams on safety initiatives and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 3–5 years of safety experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes
- Experience in supervision or team leadership preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in documentation, recordkeeping, and working in environments with dust, noise, and moving equipment
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
