About the role
The Operations Supervisor oversees and coordinates the administrative and financial operations for the assigned department(s). They directly supervise professional and clerical staff and serve as the administrative liaison for the department.
Responsibilities
- Ensures smooth, efficient, and professional operation of the assigned department(s).
- Aids in new hire orientation, training, supervision, and task assignment.
- Manages workflow, monitors quality of work, and ensures adherence to departmental standards and regulations.
- Captures and tracks employee hours, reviews timesheets, and manages leave and vacation/sick time.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for benefit and payroll inquiries.
- Resolves employee relations issues and collaborates with educators to create orientation schedules.
- Schedules meetings, coordinates audio-visual and technology requirements, and orders catering services.
- Analyzes and prioritizes correspondence, responds to communications, and determines appropriate actions.
- Maintains and supervises departmental files, manuals, and records.
- Provides backup support for administrative staff and assists with project management.
- Participates in quality improvement teams and maintains open communication with other departments.
- Handles confidential information and communicates with internal and external customers.
- Creates reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other correspondence as needed.
- Coordinates departmental events and maintains office equipment in working order.
- Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers and provides recommendations for administrative office improvements.
- Maintains compliance with hospital standards of performance and conduct.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of experience in a similar office setting, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Leadership ability to guide, direct, and mentor staff.
- Effective computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
- Flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and project coordination experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Proficiency in hospital infection control and safety procedures.

Benefits
