About the Role
Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Nursing Faculty position. The College seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a variety of nursing courses within the Nursing Assistant (NA), Practical Nursing (LPN), and/or Registered Nursing (RN) programs in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.
Responsibilities
- Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester
- Fostering student engagement and success
- Providing clinical supervision
- Contributing to course and curriculum development
- Advising students
- Maintaining accurate and timely student records
- Actively participating in program development, assessment, and evaluation
- Serving on college committees
- Engaging in institutional initiatives and activities
- Representing Brightpoint at community events, professional organizations, and other outreach opportunities
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (must be enrolled in a Master's degree program)
- Several years of experience in medical-surgical and/or pediatric nursing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes
- Flexibility to work at any of the College's locations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams
- Strong commitment to the community college mission
- Current Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or multistate compact nursing license
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check
