About the Role

Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Nursing Faculty position. The College seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a variety of nursing courses within the Nursing Assistant (NA), Practical Nursing (LPN), and/or Registered Nursing (RN) programs in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester
  • Fostering student engagement and success
  • Providing clinical supervision
  • Contributing to course and curriculum development
  • Advising students
  • Maintaining accurate and timely student records
  • Actively participating in program development, assessment, and evaluation
  • Serving on college committees
  • Engaging in institutional initiatives and activities
  • Representing Brightpoint at community events, professional organizations, and other outreach opportunities
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (must be enrolled in a Master's degree program)
  • Several years of experience in medical-surgical and/or pediatric nursing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online classes
  • Flexibility to work at any of the College's locations
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams
  • Strong commitment to the community college mission
  • Current Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or multistate compact nursing license
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check
