Nursing Faculty (Full-Time, 9-Month)

Responsibilities
- Instruct students in the two-year Associate Degree Nursing Program, covering client care across the lifespan in various settings.
- Teach a concept-based curriculum, offering flexibility in content delivery.
- Deliver didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
- Participate in scholarly engagement, professional development, and community service.
- Facilitate teaching demonstrations as part of the interview process.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an MSN program.
- Current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse (or eligibility to obtain immediate licensure), without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice.
- Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
- Dedication to the community college mission.
- Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction.
- Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans.
- Passion for the field of Nursing and for teaching.
- Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students.
- Ability to teach a diverse student population.

Pay
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
- All nursing courses are delivered in person at the Weyers Cave location.
- Clinical instruction is delivered at a variety of locations and may include day, evening, or weekend instruction.
- The position includes time off during summers, each semester break, and around the holidays.
Additional Considerations
- Previous teaching experience.
- Recent acute care experience in a hospital setting.
- Use of instructional technologies.
