Full-Time Nursing Faculty: 10-Month

About the role

The program is seeking a qualified professional with expertise in medical surgical nursing. Additional experience in pediatric nursing preferred. This position is in the full-time faculty bargaining unit, which is represented by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Classroom teaching (online and face-to-face) in nursing concepts related to specialty areas, assigned according to area of professional expertise
• Clinical teaching with direct supervision of students in a variety of settings
• Engaging in department and college-wide service activities
• Academic advising

Physical Requirements

In a clinical setting, work for 8-12 hours performing physical tasks requiring physical energy without jeopardy to client and student safety.

• Strenuous physical activities include but are not limited to: pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, and carrying more than 50 pounds
• Performing fine movements and manipulating instruments and equipment
• Auditory ability sufficient to monitor and assess health needs of clients
• Visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary for client care
