About the role
The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is a 26-week curriculum designed for recent graduates and experienced nurses interested in neonatal intensive care. The program is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and focuses on enhancing skills through lecture, simulation, peer support, and clinical experiences.
Responsibilities
- Engage in lecture and simulation education
- Participate in peer support groups
- Undergo preceptor-led clinical experiences in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Expand knowledge and skills in critical thinking, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, communication, quality and safety, and professional development
- Assist in the care of postpartum mothers through the Couplet Care Program
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited nursing school before March 2027 (BSN preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Less than 12 months experience from the program's start date
- Eligible for Delaware or Compact State licensure as a Registered Nurse
Qualifications
- Inquisitive and able to grasp critical thinking concepts
- Interest in neonatal critical care
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Delaware or a Compact State
