Nurse Residency Spring 2027: Emergency Department Track

About the role

The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is designed for students graduating December 2026 or sooner, joining us at the Newark Campus for an Emergency Department Nurse Residency Open House on June 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 26-week curriculum combining lecture and simulation education, peer support, and preceptor-led clinical experiences.
• Work under the supervision of experienced emergency nurses throughout the program.
• Upon completion, be hired as a staff member in one of ChristianaCare's three Emergency Departments.
• Pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in Delaware (or a compact state).

Requirements

• Graduating from an accredited nursing school before March 2027 (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program
• Eligible for Delaware licensure as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse or Compact RN

Pay

$38.61/hr plus any applicable differentials.

Schedule

Nurse residents are hired for a flat-rate position starting mid-March 2027.
