Nurse Extern - Spine

About the Role

The Nurse Extern supports nursing staff by providing direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, wound care, specimen collection, and documenting care. They communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and organized environment. The position fosters growth by encouraging participation in learning opportunities, care improvements, and personal development plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities and basic procedures
• Accurately document care and communicate updates
• Support patient education and comfort
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment
• Partner with supervisors and preceptors for growth and skill development

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s Degree)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment
