About the Role
A Nurse Extern supports the nursing team by delivering safe, compassionate patient care while gaining hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, and hygiene
- Performing basic nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection
- Documenting care accurately and communicating updates to the team
- Educating patients and families on care plans and recovery
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment following infection prevention protocols
- Engaging in learning opportunities and collaborating with supervisors to develop skills
Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
