Nurse Extern - Spine

About the Role

The Nurse Extern collaborates with the nursing team to provide safe, compassionate patient care while gaining practical experience in the Registered Nurse scope.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, comfort, and hygiene
• Perform basic nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection
• Accurately document care and communicate updates with the team
• Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols
• Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate on care improvements

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start
• Degree in progress (Associate or Bachelor’s)
