Nurse Coordinator
About the role
Performs in collaboration with appropriate clinical personnel, participates in the coordination of clinical practice activities in the office through the development and implementation of educational and orientation programs and clinical problem solving. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient.
Responsibilities
- Works as a collaborative member of the clinical team to ensure quality clinical services and patient care operations.
- Initiates communication resulting in efficient delivery of patient care.
- Participates in the development, implementation and presentation of ongoing educational and patient care programs utilizing the nursing process.
- Captivates and supports assignments and monitors work of designated staff.
- Serves as a preceptor when required.
- Oversees and participates with assignments and monitors work of designated staff.
- Serves as clinical resource person to nursing staff, physicians, and other health care team members with regard to nursing practices/techniques and issues of concern.
- Works to maximize patient flow and utilization of the patient templates.
- Attends divisional meetings and advisory committee meetings as an active member.
- Provides direct and indirect patient care, optimizing patient safety.
- Aids in formulating, evaluating and revising guidelines for clinical practice, policies, procedures, protocols, etc.
- Orients and trains assigned staff on revised policies, procedures and processes.
- To function as advisor, resource, and leader for patients and members of the patient care team.
- Participates in conducting in-service training programs for nursing staff and other health care professionals as required.
- Aids in the development of teaching tools and office policies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR
Qualifications
Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians to proactively identify and provide for patient needs in accordance with LifeBridge Health customer service standards and expectations along with The Joint Commission's standards and expectations.
