About the role

The Nurse Coordinator at CRi in Richmond, VA assesses and monitors the health care needs of individuals across various ICF programs. They also clinically direct LPNs and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general nursing care services within the legal scope of nursing practice.
  • Uses professional nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Monitors and directs LPN nurses to ensure quality care.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and licensure requirements.
  • Assesses health care needs and develops individualized nursing and health care plans.
  • Coordinates health care requirements and responds to emergency needs.
  • Participates in on-call nursing rotations and provides consultation on health/medical concerns.
  • Trains staff on medication management, infection control, and other health/medical topics.
  • Collaborates to develop guidelines and protocols for health/nursing/nutritional needs.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary planning meetings and recommends changes to nursing and health care programs.
  • Provides health care instruction and information to individuals and staff.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in Virginia or participating states.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • One (1) year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills, willingness to work harmoniously, and willingness to incorporate new methods into practice.
  • Physical demands include physical interventions, possible lifting, and assisting with self-care.
