About the role

The Nurse Coordinator at CRi is responsible for assessing and monitoring the health care needs of individuals in various locations across Northern Virginia. This position involves clinically directing LPNs and coordinating medical treatment with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general nursing care services within the legal scope of nursing practice and standards.
  • Uses professional nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Monitors and directs LPN nurses to ensure quality nursing care.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and licensure requirements.
  • Assesses health care needs and develops individualized nursing and health care plans.
  • Coordinates health care requirements and responds to emergency health care needs.
  • Participates in on-call nursing rotations and provides consultation and training to staff.
  • Collaborates in interdisciplinary planning meetings and recommends changes to nursing and health care programs.
  • Provides health care instruction and information to individuals and staff.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in Virginia or participating state.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • One (1) year of experience with ID/DD population preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make independent decisions.
  • Willingness to work with diverse populations and handle challenging situations.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Physical demands include physical interventions, possible lifting, and assisting with self-care.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, individuals, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to relay information about an individual's condition.

Skills

  • Proficiency in medication management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices.
