Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and manage technical and programmatic documentation, including process instructions, standard operating procedures, meeting minutes, program reports, and technical/user manuals.
- Ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and aligned with contract, program, and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation templates and style guidelines to support consistent formatting and terminology across program artifacts.
- Capture and document meeting minutes, decisions, action items, and tracking information for program and technical reviews.
- Prepare and edit content to support audits, proposals, management meetings, and program reviews, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Provide technical editorial support for documents intended for both internal and external distribution, including briefings, reports, and presentations.
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and other subject matter experts to translate technical information into accessible, high-quality documentation.
- Review documents for grammar, style, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and data item descriptions (DIDs), as required.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in technical writing, editing, or documentation management, preferably in a defense, aerospace, or engineering environment.
- Proficient writing and editing skills for creating, reviewing, and managing technical and programmatic documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with contract and program requirements across multiple document types.
- Experience preparing documentation that supports audits, proposals, management reviews, and/or formal program reviews.
- Familiarity with technical editorial processes, document control, and configuration/version management.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- BA/BS in a related field (e.g., English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, Business, or related discipline), OR High School Diploma/GED plus 6 additional years of directly related technical writing or documentation experience (in lieu of degree).
- Minimum: Active Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.

Pay
Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $66,900.00/Yr. - USD $111,800.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
