Technical Writer II
Description
IBSS is seeking a Technical Writer to support GARFO's Technology and Data Management (TDM) division. The TDM division provides web and mobile based applications, technical services and support for approximately 16,000 internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Create documentation and edit and reformat documentation created by developers to provide a comprehensive body of user documentation for the GARFO software application inventory.
- Attend development meetings as needed to gather information.
- Complete user documentation in a publicly presentable, section 508 compliant format for publication on NMFS public web site.
Required Skills / Education / Certifications & Qualifications
- B.S/B.A in Computer Science or a related field preferred and 2+ yrs experience.
- Experience with software tools to develop, edit, maintain, deliver, and display technical materials.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and MIRO.
- One (1) or more years of experience creating software documentation (user guides, FAQs, other training tools).
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment that includes flexibility working with a team in an organization that is dispersed; coordinating with the work of others; facilitating interactions among team members with diverse skill sets.
