Responsibilities
- Train, train, train! Build a team of talented individuals who never let the ball drop.
- Create and monitor a consistent training program that prepares new members for success.
- Follow up with daily, weekly, and monthly lessons to keep everyone learning and growing.
- Communicate effectively with superiors, hotel side, culinary side, and distribute information consistently to hourly teammates.
- Be highly involved in decisions and communication on the floor, sharing results with fellow teammates and superiors.
- Manage the communication relationship between guests and all areas involved, handling special requests, guest needs, service issues, and guest recovery opportunities.
- Detail and confirm guest profiles and communicate them to FOH and BOH.
- Handle guest issues directly with confidence and achieve positive results, empowering team members to resolve upset while remaining actively involved in the solution.
- Ensure your presence on the floor impacts the guest experience every minute of the day.
- Keep your team on track, energized, and focused, maintaining a consistent attitude about standards and service.
- Adapt to the needs and level of business to not sacrifice the guest experience.
- Balance the needs of your team, guests, and business, managing schedules, inventory controls, P&L knowledge, waste of product, china, glass, equipment, and human resource aspects according to protocol.
- Communicate with kitchen, other outlets, and front desk about food issues, VIPs, reservations, and changes in business levels.
- Handle daily tasks such as scheduling, staff assignments, driving revenue through competitions, checking staff duties, ensuring uniform and grooming standards, and practicing Virgin standards and protocols.
- Organize onboarding, deliver consistent training, conduct twice daily sit downs with new members, and ensure TIPS certification and Food Handlers Cards are on file.
- Comply with all safety and health department procedures and state/federal liquor laws.
Qualifications
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Food Service Handler Card and TIPS certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months.
- At least one year experience in a full service restaurant or lounge.
