About the role
Our team in Military Aircraft Group is seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) A&T Technician IV to support aircraft production programs. The role reports to the Process Manager and works on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule in East Aurora, NY.
Responsibilities
- Conducts a wide variety of environmental, functional tests and measurements, including electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic test setups for development and qualification.
- Establish setups for performance tests for assemblies, subassemblies, and systems, including necessary fixtures, tooling, equipment, and potentially the use of temperature gages.
- Supports all aspects of the A&T process, including manufacturing, development, including fixturing, tooling, test equipment, qualification, delivery, and monitoring product producibility, with minimal to no training on new product lines.
- Works with Engineering to diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies while maintaining the integrity of the unit.
- Strives to improve product quality, producibility, traceability, and data records, initiating processes, and safety efforts while maintaining integrity.
- Interfaces with cross-functional teams including Product/Manufacturing/Design Engineering, Planning, Operations, Quality and Program to provide recommendations and support production needs.
- Uses effective oral and written communication at all levels internal to Moog.
- Implements, participates, and promotes lean concepts and activities.
- Works from assembly drawings/prints, manufacturing outlines, operations worksheets, parts lists and other instructions, including work with engineers to create work instructions or work from no work instructions.
- Experience with solder, crimp, Alodine certifications preferred.
- Maintains process certification per company specifications.
- Proficient in the disassembly, reassembly and repair of assemblies utilizing equipment such as optical encoders and electromechanical assemblies such as actuators, motors and systems.
- Assembles special test setups to engineering requirements beyond standard design to help engineer analysis of problem units.
- Uses high level of attention to details skills while documenting drawing or test nonconformances and work with engineering and OPM for RCCA.
- Reviews build schedules with Program Management and develops time standards with engineering.
- Dependent on workloads, may be asked to assist on production hardware.
- Able to work overtime between 5 and 11 hours per week, and work on an off shift occasionally to meet business needs.
- Able to travel up to 15% of the time.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English.
- Demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in assembly and test operations.
- Demonstrated experience with a minimum of at least 2 technologies which may include DDV, linear actuation, pumps & motors, rotary actuation, subcomponents, etc.

- Enrollment & participation in the company’s "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.
