Multi-Duty Receptionist - Maryville Family Medicine
Responsibilities
- Answers phone calls in a professional manner and assists caller’s needs appropriately.
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Checks-in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical records / database, performs all registration functions and collects copays and balances due, as appropriate.
- Affords assistance to patients with ambulatory difficulties, or other needs, as appropriate.
- Maintains a customer service orientation.
- Schedules appointments, makes referrals, and handles pre-certifications, among other tasks.
- Fills out charts and coordinates lab work, as needed.
- Sorts and delivers mail, medical records, and other correspondence.
- Maintains a tidy and organized workspace.
Requirements
- Dependable and arrives to work on time.
- Notifies supervisor at least 2 weeks in advance for time off (excluding emergencies).
- Cooperates and helps coworkers if needed and is committed to the success of the team.
- Attends meetings, as required.
- Performs related work, as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- One year experience in a medical office setting preferred but not required.
