About the role

Join our team of healthcare professionals at Waynesville Family Practice in a fast-paced environment that provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages. These services include routine checkups, illness management, preventative care, and minor procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
  • Captures and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Enters and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Collects any copay/coinsurance balances for current visit and any outstanding balance from patients.
  • Completes pre-appointment checklists and prepares accordingly.
  • Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
  • Retrieves and distributes answering service messages.
  • Keeps office area neat and tidy.
  • Maintains log of needed office supplies.
  • Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
  • Maintains and addresses all front office task buckets in a timely manner.
  • Schedules referrals for patients to be seen by other physicians/specialists as ordered.
  • Sends all records needed and notifies patients as needed.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers and Market director.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Medical front office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
