About the role
The Front Office Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. They are responsible for managing patient check-ins and check-outs, updating and verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient files.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient check-in process, verifies and updates demographics, and updates insurance information.
- Navigates and schedules patients in the Electronic Medical Records system.
- Sends authorizations and referrals as required.
- Contacts patients to confirm and update appointments.
- Documents patient’s chief complaint, medical history, and medications.
- Administers topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
- Maintains a clean and orderly waiting area.
- Files charts and ensures accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Records system.
- Manages supply deliveries and reroutes them appropriately.
- Ensures a professional and welcoming environment for patients.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Experience in a medical office or customer service preferred.
- Ability to travel to other clinics as needed.
