About the role

The employee is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective instruction aligned with district‑approved curriculum.
• Ensure student safety and welfare.
• Provide guidance, discipline, and support tailored to each student’s readiness to learn.
• Collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
• Teach in various settings (elementary, secondary, individual, team‑teaching).

Requirements

• Hold or be able to obtain Oregon Educator licensure with a Subject Matter Endorsement specific to the content area (Science endorsement required).

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university.
• Possess or able to obtain Oregon licensure with a Subject Matter Endorsement (for secondary teaching positions).
