Elem Teacher, Grade 5, (1.0 FTE), Temp

This position is anticipated to begin August 31, 2026 and end December 18, 2026.

About the role

The employee is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching, settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned subjects following district-approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
• Ensure student safety and address each student's readiness to learn, including guidance, discipline, and welfare.
• Collaborate with colleagues within a professional learning community.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff both verbally and in writing.
• Apply knowledge of child and adolescent development to curriculum selection and instructional practices.
• Use multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques.
• Implement culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies.
• Utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment, and learning.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Meet the diverse needs of students through appropriate instructional strategies.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university.
• Possess or able to obtain Oregon licensure with an elementary multiple subjects endorsement (for elementary teaching positions).
• Successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or demonstrated commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
• Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice.
• Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work within a team.

Pay

Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education and experience. This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.

• Stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
• Stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP). The district contributes the employer portion; employees contribute 6% via payroll deduction upon eligibility (working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position). Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
