Position Summary

The employee is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching, settings.

Pay

Salary: Please note: North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year: Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract).

Benefits

• A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
• A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university.
• Possess or able to obtain Oregon licensure with an elementary- multiple subjects (for elementary teaching positions).
• Must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
• Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice.
• Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with parents, students, and staff.
• Commitment to effective collaboration and teaming within a professional learning community.
• Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior.
• Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning.
• Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate an understanding of child development, birth to age eight.
• Recognize and integrate children's backgrounds including the languages and cultures of the home in planning classroom environments and experiences.
• Communicate clearly with and listen to families about the education of their children in a variety of ways (i.e. school visits, weekly journal, conferences).
• Demonstrate playful inquiry approaches to learning through the arts and sciences.
• Maintain an inviting classroom environment with a rich array of culturally appropriate materials from the arts and sciences that are organized and accessible to young learners.
• Apply inquiry-based learning theory, and employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the capabilities, interests and motivations of individual students and the learning community to plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Utilize a variety of observation and documentation tools as provided to the program, assesses the development and learning of students on a regular basis, and uses the compiled information to plan instruction, and to maintain such records as required by the Preschool Promise grant.
• Collaborate in partnership with program consultants, classroom assistants, and other support staff (ELD specialists, classroom volunteers, etc.) to implement InquiryApproaches and to maintain a learning environment for playful inquiry and exploration supporting all learners.
• Strive to achieve professional growth.
• Assist in the selection of books, equipment, furniture and other instructional materials.
• Support the on-boarding and planning efforts of a Preschool Promise classroom.
