Full-time position reporting to the Front Desk Supervisor. Salary: $17.89/hr. plus tips.

About the role

The Hotel Front Desk Agent will serve as our guests' first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. Responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations, and providing information about rooms, rates, and amenities while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Work with all regulatory agencies (e.g., Gaming Commission, State, and Federal).
  • Learn and ensure policies and procedures are followed per the departments' Internal Controls.
  • Adhere to SMILE service standards and Core Values by providing excellent guest service.
  • Maintain a positive and productive attitude with guests and team members.
  • Adhere to the Mistequa Casino Hotel Team Member Handbook.
  • Perform all check-in and check-out tasks.
  • Manage online and phone reservations.
  • Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data.
  • Register guests, collecting necessary information (e.g., contact details and exact dates of stay).
  • Welcome guests upon arrival and assign rooms.
  • Provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities.
  • Respond to clients' complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished.
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees.
  • Upsell additional facilities and services when appropriate.
  • Work weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Ability to be a team player and work independently with good judgment.
  • Good math skills.
  • Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain a License C with the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Casinos.
  • Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble, loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the department.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or appropriate levels of Management.
  • Submit to a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing following employment.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift and carry up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

The work environment is moderate in noise level.
