Responsibilities
- Work with management and relevant departments to establish short- and long-term mine plans, strategies, and tactics
- Work through front-line leaders to communicate and implement goals
- Monitor daily success metrics and address with front-line leaders
- Ensure performance management and employee development needs are addressed
- Collaborate daily with the site team to address production/mill-impacting issues
- Complete yearly budgeting process: track and adjust as needed
- Oversee state and federal mine inspections, respond to findings
- Maintain EHS compliance through expectation-setting, accountability, and performance auditing
- Participate in continuous EHS improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- Experience: Minimum 10 years mine operations management and capital project management
- MSHA certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with: Adaptive (Budgeting), DataServ (AP), UKG (HR), AutoCAD, LIMS, ETMS, Tableau, PeopleSoft
- Deep knowledge of MSHA mine safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead mining best practices
- Strong communication skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Tools/Technology Use: Regular computer/tablet/phone/radio use; occasional hand tools and hauling equipment
- Environment: Frequently underground or outdoors; occasionally near moving parts, vibration, wet/humid conditions; rarely in confined spaces or working at height
- Physical: Regular sitting, talking, hearing; frequent standing, walking, driving, wrist/hand/finger motion; occasionally prolonged sitting, reaching, pushing, climbing, stooping, crawling; vision requirements: near/far clarity, depth perception, color; lifting: Occasionally up to 50 lbs; rarely over 51+ lbs
