- Manage and coordinate all subcontractors across civil, electrical, fencing, concrete, landscaping, and specialty trades.
- Maintain a current 3-week lookahead schedule and participate in owner/VA progress meetings.

- Coordinate construction material testing (soils compaction, concrete cylinders) and respond to failed tests with corrective action.
- Review submittals in the field and confirm installed materials match approved submissions.
- Conduct and document preparatory, initial, and follow-up QC inspection phases for each definable feature of work.
- Monitor subcontractor progress against the baseline schedule; identify and communicate float erosion and delays early.
- Proactively identify and resolve scope gaps (survey/layout, traffic control, trench restoration, gate operator power, etc.) before they cause schedule or cost impact.
- Track and document potential change conditions; submit timely notice to the PM for any changed conditions or directed changes.
- Review and approve subcontractor daily reports, labor hours, and material deliveries.
- Maintain a daily superintendent’s log documenting weather, crew counts, equipment, work performed, and significant events.
- Manage RFI field observations and coordinate responses with the PM and A/E.
- Collect as-built markups from all subcontractors throughout construction; compile final as-built set.
- Coordinate final inspections, punch list completion, and turnover documentation including O&M manuals, warranties, and training.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a field superintendent on commercial or civil construction projects of comparable scope and complexity.
- Prior experience on VA, DoD, or other federal government construction contracts strongly preferred.
