Mid-Level Litigation Attorney
About the role
The litigation team at Summit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join our thriving practice. Candidates should be comfortable managing all phases of litigation on their own, including taking depositions, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and other pre-trial proceedings. Members of our team are regularly involved in high-stakes disputes in federal court, state court, and arbitral tribunals.
Qualifications
Required 8–12 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and/or employment defense litigation (e.g., $5M+ business-to-business controversies in technology, finance, retail, logistics, or real estate sectors; complex First Amendment issues and challenges to the constitutionality of statutes and regulations)
Excellent analytical, writing, and advocacy skills
Demonstrated history of drafting pleadings, written discovery, and substantive motions
Experience taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and appearing before courts, administrative agencies, and/or arbitration panels
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
Member of the Washington State Bar and resident of the greater Seattle area, or willingness and ability to relocate and obtain Washington Bar admission within a reasonable period
Strong academic and practice credentials
Ability to work full time
Preferred
Judicial clerkship
Top 10% of graduating law school class
Trial experience
AAA or JAMS evidentiary hearing experience
