Miami University Work HR Assistant
This position is part of the BCRTA Work+ Program, which enables committed part-time employees to balance work with the pursuit of an undergraduate college degree. Under the program, BCRTA covers eligible part-time employees’ Qualified Educational Expenses. Participants must be vetted through Miami University Regionals and BCRTA. Qualified employees work at least 20 hours per week and are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at the start of a semester. About the role
The Work+ HR Assistant supports the BCRTA Human Resources Department, working collaboratively and independently to complete assigned tasks. This description should not be construed to contain every function or responsibility required for this role; employees may be assigned other related duties.
Responsibilities
- Navigate the ATS and HRIS system for document input and retrieval.
- File and maintain electronic documents.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding candidates, including participating in hiring events.
- Assist with communication across the company.
- Support benefit management, including open enrollment campaigns.
- Assist management with special projects.
- Maintain composure and act thoughtfully under pressure.
- Promote a positive public image of BCRTA and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements
- Versatile self-starter, willing to learn new processes and applications.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and instruments.
- Ability to analyze problems and research solutions.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment without overlooking details.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Effective team player with strong organizational skills in research and record keeping.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications.
- Moderate to advanced exposure to Microsoft Office Suite or a keen desire to learn quickly.
- Working toward a four-year degree in human resources, communications, business, social science, public administration, or a related field.
- Four-year degree with Miami University, Regional Campuses in progress for a Bachelor of Science or Arts.
- Clean motor vehicle record (no more than 2 points).

Pay
Hourly rate: $13.50
