Medical Staff Services Coordinator
About the role
Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging processes for medical staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant credentialing activities.
Reviews and verifies requests for additional physician privileges, documents competency, and develops draft privileging criteria when none exist.
Maintains expert knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations, serving as a resource to physicians and hospital personnel on medical staff governance matters.
Manages and updates the Medical Staff database, distributes monthly privilege and staff updates, and authorizes access to hospital computerized systems.
Acts as a liaison between medical staff leadership and providers, researching issues, gathering information, and coordinating key communications, meetings, and monthly medical staff calendars.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Associate's degree (or equivalent) in business, healthcare or related field.
- 2+ years of administrative support experience in a healthcare setting.
Skills and Abilities
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Credentialing Software, Word, Windows, and database management.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with a variety of professionals with a customer service outlook.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
- Knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations to serve as a resource person to the medical staff and hospital departments.
- Customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively.

$39,276.05 - $73,042.78
