Medical Receptionist - Orthopedics
About the Role
The primary responsibilities for this position are to greet patients, collect co-pays, schedule follow-up appointments and referrals, and support departmental clerical duties.
Schedule
64 hours per 2 weeks:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 11:30 PM – 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Qualifications
- 6 months of related experience preferred
- Some medical background preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
- Listening and telephone etiquette skills
- Medical terminology knowledge desirable
- Comfort in asking patients for copays and race collection
- Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured environment
- Ability to sit and key for long periods of time
- Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required
- Proficiency in operating telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photocopier, and fax machine
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure patient safety
