Medical Receptionist - Orthopedics

About the Role

The primary responsibilities for this position are to greet patients, collect co-pays, schedule follow-up appointments and referrals, and support departmental clerical duties.

Schedule

64 hours per 2 weeks:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 11:30 PM – 8:00 PM
• Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Qualifications

• 6 months of related experience preferred
• Some medical background preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
• Listening and telephone etiquette skills
• Medical terminology knowledge desirable
• Comfort in asking patients for copays and race collection
• Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured environment
• Ability to sit and key for long periods of time
• Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required
• Proficiency in operating telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photocopier, and fax machine
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure patient safety
