Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Medical Receptionist to help serve patients and visitors at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Kearney, NE.
Schedule
- Full-Time, 40 hr/wk
- Monday-Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others, in person, at the check-in desk, or via the telephone
- Answer incoming calls in a professional manner
- Check in/out patients per established protocols
- Schedule patient appointments and register patients
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients, and other internal/external customers
- Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff, and patients in a timely, confidential manner
- Demonstrated analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- One year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program, or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience)
- Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Fluency in Spanish (depending on the position available)
