Marshfield Medical Center Laboratory serves as the regional hub for all microbiology testing and the majority of molecular diagnostics for the Sanford‑Marshfield Region. This fast‑paced department is supported by a highly collaborative and experienced team that is committed to quality patient care and shared success.

Job Summary

Responsible for pre‑analytical, analytical, and post‑analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health‑care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision‑making and problem‑solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Scientist: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory or biological sciences; national certification (e.g., ASCP) or registry‑eligible; if registry‑eligible, must pass the Board of Registry exam within 12 months; ND license required for work in North Dakota; maintain continuing‑education credits; may require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Laboratory Technician: Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science; national certification (e.g., ASCP) or registry‑eligible; if registry‑eligible, must pass the Board of Registry exam within 12 months; ND license or provisional license required for work in North Dakota; maintain continuing‑education credits; may require BLS certification.
• Laboratory Technologist: Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field with 30 combined semester hours of biological science and chemistry; demonstrated lab experience (college laboratory experience preferred).

Pay

Salary ranges by position: Medical Laboratory Scientist $27.50 – $44.00, Medical Laboratory Technician $22.50 – $34.50, Laboratory Technologist $23.75 – $34.50. Eligible for a new‑hire sign‑on bonus.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Shift: 8 hours – Day Shifts, scheduled 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Approximate weekend commitment: every third weekend, plus 1–2 holidays per year.
