About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to join HCA HealthONE Swedish, part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical quality testing for neonates, pediatrics, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the laboratory setting in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, AABB, FDA, and CLIA standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and application of Medical Technologist practices due to the critical nature of patient testing.
  • Continuously strive to improve clinical testing through formal and informal education.
  • Maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols.
  • Perform required quality control and function verification of equipment.

Requirements

  • ASCP or AMT certification required within 6 months of hire (ASCP preferred). Continued employment is based on valid certification.
  • Associate degree in a related science required; Bachelor’s degree in a related science preferred.
  • College graduates or equivalents who have passed a certification examination for Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT, or have completed an accredited MLT program with ASCP Board Certification, are also accepted.
  • Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired but not necessary.
