Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician

About the Role
Will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries.
- Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control Monitoring
- Perform instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting
- Handle specimen processing and phlebotomy
- Provide customer service
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Pay: $23.92 - $35.57 per hour
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Pay: $30.14 - $45.21 per hour
In addition to MLT duties, will:
- Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge
- Exhibit problem-solving skills of a highly complex nature
- Participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation
Requirements
MLT Education Qualifications
- Graduate of an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
- OR meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route
MLS Education Qualifications
- Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science
- OR MLT (ASCP) certified with additional semester hours in clinical laboratory equivalents from an accredited school, 2 years of full-time lab experience, and certified as an MLS (ASCP)
MLT Licensure/Certification Qualifications
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or equivalent certification is required within one year from the date of hire.
MLS Licensure/Certification Qualifications
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) is required within one year from the date of hire.
Schedule
FTE: 0.8
Shift: Evening Rotation (every 3rd weekend and holidays)
Call Obligation: No
