About the role
POAH Communities is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Maintenance Technician for Brandy Hill Apartments in Wareham, MA. Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff
- Maintain knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations
- Monitor the condition of apartment property and immediately correct unsafe conditions
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs
- Complete all make-ready repairs and services
- Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services
- Assist in keeping grounds neat and clean (rake, sweep, shovel as necessary)
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance
- High School diploma or GED required; HVAC certification preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance (use of personal vehicle may be required)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call as necessary
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices
- Physical ability to perform duties 66-100% of the time: standing, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders, grasping, gripping, turning, finger dexterity, lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs
- Ability to read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
