About the role

Registration of patients to the facility in compliance with established policies and payor requirements in a manner that communicates to the patient that their well being is the primary mission of NextCare. Assures that the clinic is running smoothly and that patient flow is at the optimum.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all front office duties corresponding to the appropriate Skills Competency Checklist.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Obtains data from the patient and kiosk and inputs information into E-Practice Management systems.
  • Monitors the flow of patients, including placing patients into rooms as needed.
  • Processes patients for discharge including (but not limited to) preparation of charges, collection of monies, obtaining all necessary signatures, and issuance of receipts for monies collected.
  • Completes all necessary forms for registration to assure proper reimbursement from payors.
  • Prepares daily deposit, reconciliation, and daily statistical information.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with facility standards.
  • Keeps patients and families informed of waiting times.
  • Ensures an adequate stock of front office supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Answers telephone utilizing quality customer service skills.
  • Ensures patient waiting area and restrooms are clean and reflect a positive image of NextCare.
  • Participates in education programs and attends meetings as required.
  • Participates in the orientation and/or training of newly hired personnel.
  • Manages virtual waiting room.
  • Treats patients and co-workers consistent with the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Performance Standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Education: Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum two years experience in registration or front office in a physician's office, hospital emergency department and/or urgent care setting
  • Typing and computer proficiency: Windows based software
  • Skills: Ability to multi-task, provide quality customer service, prioritize and critical thinking

Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate or equivalent
  • Training: Customer Service Training; Office/Clerical Training

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee comes in contact with patient in a wide variety of circumstances. The employee may be exposed to unpleasant situations including accidents, injuries, illnesses, patient elements and varying or unpredictable situations.
