About the role
The University of California, Riverside School of Medicine Undergrad Medical Education (UME) Department is seeking a collaborative and relationship-focused professional to serve as the Medical Education Affiliate Relationship Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, track and communicate with faculty and learners.
- Carefully coordinate recruitment of faculty, contracts and track faculty appointments and integration of learners into program sites.
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships to expand contacts with clinical and hospital professionals to enhance medical learning opportunities for the community based UCR SOM.
- Prospecting for, securing and maintaining medical education opportunities for UCR SOM by selling the value of program participation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clinical facilities within the Inland Empire to secure strategic partnerships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty appointment request for the Division of Medical Education.
- Serve as the liaison to Academic Affairs on all faculty appointment requests and renewals.
- Initiate and track all faculty appointment requests for the Division of Medical Education in coordination and collaboration with Academic Affairs.
- Aid in securing the required internal approvals for faculty appointment requests.
- Maintain appointment status to requestors.
- Aid faculty with preparing their CV's for submission, when applicable.
Requirements
- Monitor and communicate appointment status to requestors.
- Aid in securing the required internal approvals for faculty appointment requests.
- Generate and utilize a data program to maintain a database of medical prospects/faculty members and follow up on all viable leads.
- Keep database up to date.
- Standardize and automate the Faculty Appointment interest request process.
- Maintain faculty appointment interest list.
- Update and maintain faculty appointment spreadsheet list for the Division of Medical Education.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in related area.
- 4-7 years of related experience, with at least 3 years in business development, workforce development, human resources, staffing or related experience.
Skills
- Proficient in ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
- Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner.
- Verbal and written communication skills to operational and learning concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel.
- Working knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum.
- Ability to recruit faculty and integrate learners which requires high-level planning and coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide-range of teaching and learning goals.
- Ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.
- Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators/managers.
