About the role
The Medical Assistant - Women's Health position at UC San Diego provides support in an outpatient setting, specifically within the OB/GYN clinic. This role involves performing a variety of patient care duties as per state and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients for OB/Gyn providers
- Stocking, cleaning, checking expiration dates, and managing supply inventory
- Processing instruments and lab specimens
- Chaperoning and assisting with procedures/exams
- Reviewing AVS with patients
- Demonstrating knowledge of medical terminology, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics
- Showing initiative, prioritizing tasks, and working in a team environment
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
- Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- OB/GYN experience
- Bilingual: English/Spanish

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.31 - $31.50
