About the role

The Medical Assistant - Women's Health position at UC San Diego provides support in an outpatient setting, specifically within the OB/GYN clinic. This role involves performing a variety of patient care duties as per state and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients for OB/Gyn providers
• Stocking, cleaning, checking expiration dates, and managing supply inventory
• Processing instruments and lab specimens
• Chaperoning and assisting with procedures/exams
• Reviewing AVS with patients
• Demonstrating knowledge of medical terminology, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics
• Showing initiative, prioritizing tasks, and working in a team environment

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
• Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

• OB/GYN experience
• Bilingual: English/Spanish

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.31 - $31.50
