Position Details
Homestead Cabinet & Furniture is seeking an Office Assistant to serve as both a receptionist/executive assistant and samples department support. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Role 1: Receptionist & Executive Assistant
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally
- Greet and assist visitors, vendors, and guests
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Maintain a clean, welcoming front office and reception area
- Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries
- Draft, proofread, and send professional correspondence on behalf of leadership
- Prepare agendas, materials, and notes for meetings
- Manage scheduling and coordinate calendars across departments
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Auxiliary administrative support to the Operations Manager and company leadership
- Support onboarding, scheduling, and paperwork coordination as needed
Role 2: Samples Support
- Labeling & Shipping Assistance
- Apply labels to sample doors and products accurately and efficiently
- Axist with preparing outbound sample shipments — packaging, labeling, and carrier coordination
- Receive and log incoming sample deliveries; route packages to the appropriate team
- Cooordinate with the samples team on outgoing order deadlines and carrier pickups
- Sample Library & Organization
- Axist with putting away samples after jobs are produced
- Help keep the sample library clean and organized
- Support quality checks, photographing, and logging of outbound samples as needed
- Provide general assistance to the samples team as priorities shift day to day
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Comfortable with physical tasks, including labeling, packaging, and light lifting
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred
- Prior experience in a receptionist, administrative, or executive assistant role
- Experience coordinating hiring or interview scheduling
- Familiarity with job posting platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience in a manufacturing, cabinetry, or production environment
