Position Summary

A Medical Assistant performs duties related to patient care in a clinic setting, displaying responsible behavior, effective communication, and teamwork. Reporting to the nurse manager, the role involves clinical tasks under supervision and administrative support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association

Essential Job Functions

  • Collects patient information
  • Maintains patient status and reports abnormalities
  • Confirms and clarifies written orders
  • Performs delegated procedures under clinical supervision
  • Assists practitioners with patient procedures
  • Manages specimen collection and patient instructions
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains exam rooms
  • Performs related tasks such as prescription refills and message taking

Schedule Requirements

The role requires regular and sustained attendance. On-call work may be required, and the position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
