Medical Assistant- Main Street Urgent Care (PT- 0.5 FTE, Day Shift)

Position Summary

This part-time Medical Assistant position offers two 11-hour shifts per week (8:00 AM–7:00 PM), including weekends, providing an excellent opportunity to balance work and personal commitments while delivering exceptional patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Medical Assistant role may be considered.
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collects patient information.
  • Maintains patient status and reports abnormal findings or changes in condition.
  • Confirms and clarifies written orders before implementation.
  • Performs delegated procedures under clinical supervision.
  • Aids practitioners in patient procedures, treatments, examinations, and specimen management.
  • Provides patient instruction and directs patient flow.
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains exam rooms and clinic areas.
  • Performs related tasks such as requesting prescription refills, taking and relaying messages, and managing patient flow.

Schedule Requirements

  • Regular and sustained attendance required.
  • May necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

  • Dealing with infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
  • Dealing with emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
