Medical Assistant, Urgent Care, 32hrs, Days
Major Responsibilities
Provides patient care by assisting with the implementation of care plans. Assesses health status, implements care plans, documents interventions and evaluates patient progress following standard procedures. Coordinates patient flow and prepares patient for examination. Takes and records vital signs and EKG's. Documents intake questions. Assists providers and others in clinical procedures as required or directed. Performs basic clinical procedures such as venipuncture. Performs basic office laboratory procedures such as urinalysis, urine culture, pregnancy tests, throat cultures and related procedures. Draws blood as required or directed. Returns patient calls and documents in patient record as required or directed by the nurse, provider or physician. Obtains laboratory results. Ensures results are brought to the attention of the provider and others as appropriate according to departmental policy. Maintains records, reports, logs and other statistical information as required or directed. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as typing, filing, scheduling appointments, making phone calls and related duties as required or directed. Maintains assigned departmental and/or clinical supplies. Assures accurate inventory of supplies based on approved levels. Rotates stock as required. Initiates requisitions for re-supply or special items as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus completion of accredited program in Medical Assisting at an accredited school
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required within 6 months of hire and must be maintained
- Basic Life Support Certification ((American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification required)). American Heart Association (AHA) course completion card accepted at time of hire/transfer but AHA BLS is required within 90 days of hire or transfer
Experience/Skills
- Knowledge of office and laboratory procedures
Licenses/Certifications/Educations
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent, plus completion of accredited program in Medical Assisting at an accredited school
- Preferred: Minimum of three years of relevant experience

Pay
- Hiring Range: $16.54 - $29.76
Schedule
- Holidays - Every Other Holiday, Monday through Friday, Weekends - Every Other Weekend
- Scheduled Hours: Mixed shifts: 8a-830p or 8a-430p Monday-Friday, 845A-515pm weekends and holidays
- Shift 4 - Mixed Shift, 12 Hours (United States of America)
- Hours: 24
