Medical Assistant - Full-time Days

About the role

Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients.

Requirements

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
• Able to assess and interpret data reflective of the client’s status
• Provides care outlined in standards, policies, and procedures
• Specialized departmental training to provide care to patients within the role
• Successful completion of SMH orientation
• Command of verbal and written English
• Positive interpersonal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Operation of clinical equipment
• Demonstration of clinical competence
• Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas
• Ability to meet job performance expectations: must be able to perform essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year accredited Medical Assistant program

License/Certification

• Medical Assistant certification

Pay

Salary range: $19.85–$30.05 per hour. The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
