About the Role
Support patient examinations and treatments under physician supervision, performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient practice operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient flow and document medical histories, vital signs, medication updates, and test reviews in the EMR.
- Prepare patient charts and obtain necessary medical information from external sources.
- Refill and pre-authorize medications.
- Operate diagnostic equipment, including EKG and monitors.
- Perform phlebotomy, cast removal, and prepare exam rooms with supplies.
- Answer calls, schedule appointments, check-in/out patients, and complete pre-certifications.
- Manage work queues within EMR and practice management systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR, scheduling, and office systems required.
- Clinical skills such as phlebotomy and EKG are highly desirable.
- BLS certification required; Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
- Must complete skills orientation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate professionally.
- Willingness to travel between offices.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to legal and safety standards.
- Demonstrates commitment to quality care and patient experience.
